Ten Thousand Vines Winery is the result of a passion and the love of wine. Though the business may have started off as being relatively small compared to other wineries, Ten Thousand Vines has grown and now has a staff of uniquely talented people who continue that passion for wine. Here is a quick look at the people who make up the winery.
Mike Ditonto, (Proprietor and Lead Wine Maker)
Mike’s passion for wine started years ago through his family heritage. Family gatherings always included wine a food and his interest in making wine was enhanced by his culinary creativity. Mike’s business acumen comes from his Engineering education and from his running a large manufacturing company which he was involved in for many years prior to starting the winery. When talking to Mike in the tasting room, or taking one of the wine making classes, one can quickly and clearly recognize his passion for his art.
Bill Martin, (Wine Maker)
Bill is very involved with making our wines and oversees much of the day to day functions within the winery. Bill has a keen eye for detail in all of the wines that are produced. In addition to being a professional Realtor, he has been a business owner in the years past. Bill has been making wines as well as brewing beer at his home for many years. Bill’s knowledge and passion for wine is clearly understandable while either teaching one of our wine making classes, or assisting a customer with wine making supplies for their own wines at home.
Anne Donohue, (Tasting Room/Retail Coordinator)
Anne is instrumental in operating our tasting room and ensuring people truly receive special attention when they stop in to see what is new at the winery. She ensures that our tasting room has the wine gifts and merchandise you may need for yourself or whomever may be on your shopping list. Anne also coordinates the “Wine Explorer” wine club which has grown tremendously since her involvement. Anne loves to talk to people about her passion for wine and what wines she may be working on at home.
Jamie Rogers, (Business Development)
Jamie is the most recent addition to the winery. As we have grown over the years so has the demand for our wines from area restaurants and retailers. Jamie has a depth of experience with working on the wholesale end of the winery business through his involvement with different distributors and importers in the Mid-Atlantic States. Jamie’s passion for wine developed right out of college working in fine restaurants. He was introduced to some of the finest wines from around the world and fell in love with wine. He gets a thrill out of how his own children love to assist him in his own home wine making efforts as well.
